In North America, religion is a very diverse cultural facet. The United States and Canada are two North American countries that have very high immigration rates, which means that all major world religions are represented between their populations. The United States and Canada are virtual melting pots of world cultures, and Christianity, Muslim, Hinduism, Judaism and Buddhism are all found within their borders, as well as many others. Even in Mexico, Greenland and a number of Caribbean nations, interfaith culture is spread widely. This has created an interesting and unique religious climate within North America unlike any the world has ever known. A great deal of tolerance for the religions of others must be exercised in order to maintain civility, however, this does not always work out. Religious hate crimes occur in North America over culture clashes. Christianity is the dominant religion of North America with non-denominational Christianity found in abundance in the United States and Canada, and Catholicism found in abundance in Mexico. Approximately 30-percent of North Americans identify themselves as Christian or believing in a theological God.
